I’m not really into that sort of thing but my 68 had one on there when I bought it and I haven’t bothered to put the original silver one back on since it is, for all intents and purposes a blackface. Of all the tubes I’ve auditioned in those amps, RCA’s and Tung Sol’s vintage, not re-issue are easily the best sounding in the preamp and power positions. Mullard or Amperex rectifier tubes are the only way to fly. I hook mine up to a variac to get v which gives them a slightly more natural, deep sound than the v that is coming ouit of my walls.

I’ve got one and i love it. Good amp for harp. Feedback threshold depends on what kind of mic you are using. Using a lo-z Ultimate through a transformer with the volume control of the mic at 9 o’clock 11 o’clock is wide open to reduce the output gain of the mic, you can turn the amp up to 8 or 9. Can’t turn the amp up that far if you are using a hotter mic or if you open the Ultimate up to max volume.
